DID YOU KNOW One of the earliest recorded interviews on camera is attributed to Thomas Edison, the renowned American inventor. In 1891, Edison’s Kinetoscope, one of the first motion picture devices, featured a short film known as “Dickson Greeting.” In this piece, William Kennedy Laurie Dickson, Edison’s assistant, greeted the audience, introducing them to the world of moving pictures. While it was not a traditional interview, it marked a significant moment in the history of film, as it was one of the first instances of a person addressing the camera directly.
